The Giver (2014)

The Giver is about literally a black and white community, the humans do not feel, they do not have options and they do not question their community. This has left them without war nor pain, but they do neither feel love or joy. The protagonist Jonas is not like the others, he see things others don’t. When he comes to age he’ll be assigned a job, so he becomes the receiver. Now the Giver needs to learn Jonas all the beauty and horror in life, and Jonas becomes the only person who can make a difference.

Director: Phillip Noyce

Cast: Brenton Thwaites, Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Alexander Skarsgård (swed!!!), Odeya Rush etc.

This movie is why I have trust issues with imdb, because this is one of my favorite movies of all time! Even though it shows you the horrible things in life it still focuses on all the beauty we might not think of. It is easy to feel like your life is hell, nor understand how the world could be so cruel with the refugee problem and terrorists. But there is still so much joy in the world, which we often do forget. The movie also shows the beauty in traditions and different cultures. I do need to say that Brenton Thwaites is eye candy times 100!

I like how the movie is not too long, I think a lot of movies these days are way to long which also makes the story boring sometimes. If I now must criticize something it might be the end, it was a little tedious and not much did happen but at the same time much actually did happen. 😀 So the One Republic song at the end just finishes this movie beautifully, and I always have a smile on my lip when the movie ends.

I command you to watch this movie because it is indeed AWESOME! 10 OUT OF 10 STARS!! ✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩
