The Wedding Date (2005)

You’re like the Yoda of escorts. Getting you on the phone was harder than getting into college.” – Kat

Kat hires a date to her sister’s wedding so she can make her ex boyfriend jealous. It’s a drama filled week with new discoveries and a lot of love. Kat really starts to see persons for who they are and finds new love along the way.

So this was one of my moms favorite movie when I was growing up, so you can imagine that she wanted to watch it all the time. Let’s just say that I have watched this movie a lot… It is nevertheless a great movie and it has all that cheesy romance that we all are looking for in our extremely ordinary lives (at least I do). Is the movie predictable? Well of course it is, just like every other romantic movie, and I love it. The Wedding Date has its unique parts, thrilling drama and happily ever after, and that’s probably why this movie is so good.

The story also has some uninteresting parts, more towards the end I would say, but it is a romantic story and it really makes you believe in love. I know these movies are very unrealistic but I just love the thought of having a soulmate out there and finding true love (I’m so cheesy, I know). I do also feel like Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney really brings something special to the story. Great main characters in the movie. I would say this is a movie for all the romantic people who wants a piece of drama on their cakes. Watch it!

My rating: 7,5/10 😍

  1. Good review. To me, this is a standard rom-com movie, but its entertaining to watch. I sometimes put it on (if on TV) and play in the background while I’m doing stuff around the house.
