Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016)

Mike and Dave is two irresponsible brothers who always seem to destroy every single occasion they attend. It’s time for their younger sister Jeanie to get married and now Mike and Dave have to find two nice girls to fulfill their little sisters wish. Alice and Tatiana just got fired from their jobs and decide to act like nice girls to get a free trip to Hawaii. Turns out that similar people are drawn to each other, for better or for worse.

This was actually a great movie. It had a very clear and coherent story which made it easy to understand everything that was going on and follow the whole movie without being confused or bored. The environment is also gorgeous. I just love the Hawaii environment! My absolute dream is to go to Hawaii and just seeing it in a movie is magical. I think these drama movies becomes so much better when they are set in a romantic environment. The movie also had some comedy but it wasn’t really “laughing out loud” comedy, still fun though.

It would not be a shock that I like this movie so much because I love the whole wedding, romantic, funny, Hawaii thing where you know the ending is going to be beautiful. You could definitely say this was a movie made for me. One should however be a little careful with these romantic comedy movies because if you don’t like them, you probably won’t like this one. It’s rather predictable and a little cheesy. One thing that would have made me love this movie a little more would have been if the characters wouldn’t be so unrealistic and “damaged”. Not the biggest fan when characters take drugs and stuff like that, or just act very stupid. I must however say that Zac Efron, Adam Devine, Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza were a great group, brilliant cast.

My rating: 7/10  💑

  1. I’m glad that you liked it more than me! Personally, I was disappointed with this movie. Efron and Kendrick were pretty “blah” and Devine and Plaza were better. The story was generic and the comedy aspect was okay (all the best scenes were in the trailers).
