Buddy grew up on the North Pole with his foster-father (who is an Elf) and when he finds out he is adopted, Buddy decides to leave the North Pole to find his real father in New York. Although, growing up behaving like an Elf makes it hard for Buddy to fit in, but that might be something his stiff father really needs.
I have realized that I love so many christmas movies. Every time I write a review of a christmas movie I write that I love it, because I do! I feel like Elf could be a love/hate movie, either you love it or you hate it. I personally love it (no you don’t say)! I think the whole idea is funny and very unique and it’s not an ordinary christmas movie you might see everywhere. Now, Will Ferrell is a legend and he really makes this movie funny, interesting, wicked and very Christmassy. Zooey Deschanel does also do a great job! There is a part where the two of them are singing, and that is just magical, definitely my favorite scene.
The one thing that I’m not too happy about are the clay figure animals (?). They make the movie a little silly and like way too unrealistic, and they are really weird. The whole movie is actually a little silly, but that doesn’t stop me from watching it every year. The graphics aren’t the best I guess but the movie’s from 2003 so I wouldn’t complain too much about that. Otherwise I would say that this movie makes me so happy. Buddy really spreads happiness and it is contagious, and I just adore that.
