24 Days of Christmas – #22 National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Review

Clark just wants an ordinary christmas at home but with the whole family gathered it becomes an action packed holiday. Although, a little bad luck doesn’t stop Clark from getting the biggest christmas tree and the brightest house in the area. A delayed christmas bonus and a surprise visit from a cousin doesn’t help the Griswold family and their christmas spirit.

How much bad luck can one guy have? I really like this movie but I think it is a little too much with the whole bad luck situation. It really goes from being funny to just being unrealistic and a little annoying. That is the one thing that really bothers me with comedy movies, when they overdo it. Now it sounds like I don’t like this movie but I really do. It’s funny, a little crazy and eventful.

Chevy Chase does a great job and he really creates a unique and special character. Clark is the main character, the most important character and the character that creates the whole movie. So being Clark can’t be easy but Chevy does a great job. Other than that I just think the movie gives a genuine christmas feeling and the comedy is always fun. This is a proper family movie and it’s great!

My rating: 7/10 🎄

  1. We’re gonna press on, and we’re gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he’s gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse. 😂
